Pinnacle Senior Living Wins Beautification Award
Angelina Beautiful/Clean (AB/C) honored Pinnacle Senior Living with a Beautification Award. An award presentation took place at their venue located at 615 W Whitehouse Dr, in Lufkin presented by members of the Angelina Beautiful/Clean Board of Directors and the November sponsor, Pine Tree Garden Club.
The Beautification Award is an environmental award program that recognizes individuals, organizations and businesses that have demonstrated exceptional leadership in protecting or enhancing our local environment. This is in recognition of achievement in helping to beautify the Angelina County area by landscaping, building improvement and other means which enhances the beauty of our Deep East Texas community.
Pinnacle Senior Living was recognized for their achievement in investing into our local economy with this award from Angelina Beautiful/Clean. Their new building was intentionally created to have natural aspects of the environment continue to be a focus. Landscaping was prominent to feature for visitors and passerby’s. Residents are able to enjoy gardens with native plants, walking trails, and a beautiful pond facing the trees.
Per Jennifer La Corte, AB/C Executive Director, “According to Partners Healthcare, being outside can help increase levels of Vitamin D, which often is low among seniors. Low levels of this important nutrient are linked to pain in muscles and bones, inflammation, higher risk of Type 1 diabetes and several types of cancer. Being outside may also improve your overall immunity by boosting your count of white blood cells, and the improvements may last for a week or more. Research tells us that simply being outside and enjoying nature can provide a variety of benefits for your energy, creativity, and mental and physical well-being.”
