Hudson City Hall Wins Beautification Award

[Lufkin, TX – August 4, 2020]

Angelina Beautiful/Clean (AB/C) presented Hudson City Hall with a Beautification Award. The award presentation took place at Hudson City Hall located at 348 Ted Trout Drive. The award was presented by members of the Angelina Beautiful/Clean Board of Directors and the August Beautification sponsor, Woodland Heights Medical Center.

The Beautification Award is an environmental award program that recognizes individuals, organizations and businesses that have demonstrated exceptional leadership in protecting or enhancing our local environment. This is in recognition of achievement in helping to beautify the Angelina County area through building improvements, and any other means which enhances the beauty of our Deep East Texas community.

The City of Hudson has recently renovated the old Trout building and transformed the space into a new home for the town’s city hall. The building has changed hands throughout the years serving as a home health office, a bed and breakfast, wedding venue, and now acts as a home base for Hudson’s city employees. Renovations are still underway, and the City of Hudson is continuing to renovate the interior and exterior of the building.

Per Emily Thornton, AB/C Executive Director, “As someone who is a Hudson native, it has been so amazing to see Hudson City Hall take over the space and truly make it their own. The building has always been such a beautiful attraction, and I am confident that the City of Hudson will breathe new life into the building in the many years to come.”
