Summer Adopt A Highway Cleanup
Saturday, July 18th, 2020

Pictured above are volunteers from our summer Adopt A Highway cleanup.
Our Angelina County community came together Saturday, July 18th for our Adopt A Highway cleanup event. These cleanups are hosted quarterly, and with COVID-19 currently preventing large gatherings or events, we felt it was a great way for the community to come together and make a difference.
Our Executive Director, Emily Thornton, was quoted saying: “These events are so important right now because we’re all so apart. We can’t meet together; we can’t all get together and have an event anymore. So having the ability for the community to come together and really do their part is a cool thing. It’s not common in the age of COVID at all.”
Despite the current COVID-19 pandemic, the AB/C team feels that there are still ways for our organization to provide community outreach safely. Our mission of beautifying Angelina County remains, and despite the circumstances - our team wants to do our part in helping our community environment.
Angelina Beautiful/Clean hosts Adopt A Highway cleanups quarterly, and for more information on how to participate, or host a cleanup of your own, email Emily Thornton at ethornton@lufkintexas.org for more information.
